Two Iconic Brands on One Platform

Migration of the HBC banners, Saks Off 5th and Hudson’s Bay to the latest SFRA Commerce Cloud.

Overview

At Live Area, I worked in partnership with the design team at HBC along with SalesForce to launch the online stores The Bay, La Baie D’Hudson and Saks Off 5th on Salesforce Commerce Cloud.  Over the course of a year, I integrated with the design and product team to help conduct functional workshops, gap analyses, design/development reviews, and accessibility audits. Additionally, I worked with the team to create a deliverables schedule that would blend with their current workflow and ensure timelines/milestones were met.

Define & Design

Kicking off the design phase, a side by side gap analysis was completed to compare what SFCC has to offer out-of-the-box with what the brands future state was looking to achieve. This was analyzed and all deltas were captured as what customizations would be required within the expected timeline.

Style Guide

A clear, consistent presentation of the brands identities is essential in building recognition and trust with their audiences. These guidelines have been developed to ensure the brand is represented correctly, during design and development.

These guidelines are referred to when creating new templates, electronic and direct mail communications, advertising, or using the brands identity in any way.

Omni-Channel

Integration of BOPIS on all touchpoints of the shopping experience.

There is growing desire for large retailers to offer more curated experiences based on a location or preferred store to their customers. With HBC, we customized the product array by offering the “Preferred Location” as a filter. After entering a location, the array of products shown would be available for pickup at the store they choose.
