Implementation and redesign of the digital flagship for YETI coolers where content is king.

Overview

YETI is known for making the toughest, most stubborn coolers on the planet for adventure seekers to weekend warriors. We were approached at Live Area to replatform their digital flagship and to blend commerce and content into a meaningful shopping experience reflective of their brand and culture. This journey included creating modular systems to quickly produce campaigns and targeted landing pages, guided selling tools and integration of editorial content into the shopping experience.

Customer Experience

A full discovery was conducted and through a series of design sprints in collaboration with YETI, requirements are captured, wireframes created, and prototypes of custom features were produced. During this phase is where we created an information architecture that integrated their brand story of adventure while also prioritizing key business objectives such as identifying correct sizing and pairing of accessories.

Commerce + Content

The passion of the YETI community is visible on our product detail pages where vibrant imagery and video show the products in context while providing touch-points to purchase and explore additional coolers.

Features & Functionality

Modular Landing Pages

A series of landing page templates were created for the YETI team to quickly produce targeted campaigns and announce product launches with minimal development effort. Though collaboration with the YETI marketing team we were able to product a set of fully designed templates with flexible modules that can be interchanged to accommodate the teams needs.

Truck Fitter Guide

Determining the correct size hard cooler had been a challenge to the customer due to the name of the Tundra not reflecting the actual size in any way. To help customers visualize the spectrum of sizes, we designed an Interactive Truck Fit Guide where a customer can see the Tundra and model number in context with the bed of a pick-up truck.

Product Customizer

The product customization was one that lived in a separate experience outside of the flagship site. YETI asked us to design a customer journey where the customization was done at the product detail page. The goal was to create a frictionless journey to guide the customer though the steps needed to customize a Rambler in one of four ways. A linear path was designed to help the user complete the tasks while allowing them to recover from unintended actions as well as save a design to pick up at a later time.
